Do you require reservations?

Yes!

 

Do you eat with us?

No! But don't worry! We do eat, but we make sure that YOUR breakfast is a satisfying one and that requires our full attention.

 

How many guests can you accommodate?

We can accommodate 6. 2 per room maximum.

 

Do you rent motorcycles?

Sorry, no we do not and we do not know of anyone in Nova Scotia that does at the present time.

 

Do you serve lunch and supper?

No we do not, but we do have a BBQ that can be used by guests.

 

Do I require to own and ride a motorcycle to stay with you?

No! Although our B&B is aimed at motorcyclists, we do not require that you ride or even own a bike. You just have to like them!

 

Do you have covered parking?

Yes! We have a garage to park your bike in. Our garage has a packed down dirt floor.

 

Can I camp on your property?

No! At the present time we do not offer camping.

 

Are there tools if I need to work on my bike?

Yes! We may not have all the tools, but we do have the basics. We are also 10 minutes from the ONLY motorcycle repair shop on the Cabot Trail.

 

If I have food restrictions, can you modify your breakfast for me?

Yes! Please let us know at the time of booking.

 

Do you serve or sell alcohol?

No! But you are more than welcome to bring your own. We do have a bar fridge for guest use.

 

Can I do laundry?

Yes! But we are not responsible for doing it!

 

Are the rooms air conditioned?

No! We do however have ceiling fans in the rooms.

 

How close is the nearest gas station?

It is 4 kms from us and is located on the 105.

 

How far is the Cabot Trail from you?

It is approx. 8 kms from us.

 

How long does it take to do the Cabot Trail on motorcycle?

This depends on how many stops that you do, how fast you ride and many other variables. Please give yourself at least 6-8 hours for riding the Cabot Trail.

 

What time is breakfast served?

Here at the Retreat we ask YOU when you want breakfast served. However, if there are other guests that are NOT in your riding party, we set a time to do breakfast.

 

Other "stuff" that you should know before booking with us:


- We have a gravel driveway that for some may also be a steep driveway.

Please look at our pictures on the website to see the driveway.

- We have a Doberman dog, she is friendly!

We also have 2 cats but they live in the loft and do not have access to the rest of the house.
- We also live in the loft on the 3rd floor.

- We have a shared bathroom for our 3 guest rooms.

We also have a bathroom on the main floor but it is not used for showers however.

- We do not have cable or TV in any of the guest rooms.

We do however have a TV(no cable or satellite), PS3 and many DVDs/games on the main floor.
- We offer FREE long distance within North America.
- We offer wi-fi and use of a laptop
- We offer boot and glove dryers in every guest room
- We have many books, magazines etc. all on motorcycles
- We have a deck with a Gazebo and patio furniture for guest use

Directions to the Retreat:

Once you cross the Causeway into Cape Breton, you will want to take the 105 to Baddeck. Middle River West Road is approx. 72 kms from the Causeway on the left hand side. It is just past the Ultramar that is in Wagmatcook
(Indian Reserve) Once you turn left on Middle River West, we are about 4kms down the road. We are on the left hand side just over a hill (our driveway comes up quick) there is a small sign at the end of the driveway for us and our address is 2716 Middle River West Road.
